FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
everything you want to know about the markets...
What are the Annex Markets?
The Annex Antiques Fair & Flea Market is the original name of the Chelsea Flea Market when it opened in 1976. At various times under the Annex Markets brand there have been indoor and outdoor flea markets—some weekly, some occasional—at other Manhattan locations, too, including Chelsea, Central Park South, Columbus Circle, and Hell’s Kitchen South.
When is the market open?
Chelsea Flea Market is open every Saturday and Sunday, year-round, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. (Early-bird buyers are welcome for $5 admission from 6:30 a.m. until 9 a.m.)
What can I expect to find at the market?
Antiques, collectibles, vintage clothing, estate jewelry and other estate items, furniture, art, ephemera, vintage cameras and photographs, antique culinary items, comic books, vinyl LPs, and more, including some hand-crafted items, many from abroad, and various items of the decorative arts from the late 1700s through the era of Mid-Century Modern design.
In case of inclement weather, are the markets still open?
Yes, but inclement weather can affect the number of vendors that we have. When very extreme weather is anticipated, the market may close, but it’s rare. Stay tuned to our website & social media pages for updates.
Can I haggle on the price of merchandise?
Yes, with courtesy and respect you can negotiate prices with a vendor, but vendors always have the right to offer a set price only.
Do you accept credit cards?
Most vendors only accept cash but a few accept credit cards. There are ATMs very near the market; the Chelsea/Flatiron neighborhood is a prime Manhattan retail area.
Is it handicap accessible?
Yes, the markets are handicap accessible.
Is it pet friendly?
Yes, as long as your pet is on a leash and under control, feel free to bring it along with you to the market.
Can I bring my bike?
All bikes must be walked only. You are not allowed to mount your bike at any time in the markets.
What’s the best time to come to the markets?
Peak season is May to December but it varies according to the weather. Join us each weekend from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
