Market Muse: Festive Fashion Fare

Chelsea Flea Market

It’s that time of year again. It’s the middle of autumn but time to start seriously considering adding a little festive flare to your wardrobe. But what’s too festive? And is it possible to be festive without being all glammed up? Do you have to wear traditional colors to be deemed ‘festive’?

Check out these simple tips to help alleviate some of your festive fashion fare woes.

1.)    Take on Tacky Sweaters? Unless you’re attending a tacky sweater party or feeling brave, nix the exaggerated festive sweaters and blouses. They tend to be extremely busy and no matter if it’s vintage or modern it can be distracting and hard to clean.

2.)    To Glam or Not to Glam? Festive fashion is achievable without the glam. Search for patterns and prints that subtly echo the trends of the season. Tone down a fancy festive blazer by pairing it with jeans or simple boots to appeal to a more casual style.

3.)    Traditional Colors? Although the holidays do remind us of the traditional colors of the season they do not have to be a part of your festive attire. Hues of deep purple, black and white are all festive colors that can ensure you’ll be celebrating in style.
